DHD Summer School Courses

Our curriculum offers something for every player, boys
and girls, under-8 through high school. Our coaches are experienced in helping all age groups enrich their skills and their enjoyment of the game. We want every participant to feel their time spent with us was a rewarding way to spend some of their summer time.

Fundamentals 101
: Proper technique is the quintessential first step in playing soccer. Every session begins with learning how to use each part of the body in directing the ball, (dribbling, passing, collecting, tackling, heading, shooting, throw-ins, etc.).

Fundamentals 201: Technical refinement of basic skills and simple moves to beat defenders, creating time and space to go to goal. More emphasis on tactics and decision making, movement off the ball, transition, and team attacking and defending.

Goalkeeping 101: Goalkeeping is the cornerstone of the defense, yet it is the one position that gets the least amount of attention from coaches. DHD Soccer teaches the proper techniques for catching, throwing, rolling, punting and drop-kicking the ball.

Goalkeeping 301: For high-school players who want to refine his or her techniques. How to know where to position yourself during play, how to collect and distribute the ball, deal with breakaways, and how to direct the defenders in front of you.

Tactics and Decision Making 301: For high-school players who want to be ready for the upcoming season. Each week we will concentrate on a specific area of play, (scoring, various defensive formations, attacking down the flanks, counter attacks, etc.).

Fitness and Conditioning: A body conditioned for the rigors of the game will reduce the chance of injury, and shorten the recovery time should an injury occur. We offer a blend of what is being used at the collegiate and professional levels.
